Commerical Roofing: TPO, EPDM, PVC

Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) is a thermoplastic roof system that is highly reflective and fully recyclable. These roofs are highly resistant to ultraviolet light and most chemicals, are reinforced for puncture and tear resistance, and have outstanding seam strength. The single-ply roofing membranes are lightweight and well suited for retrofit applications.

  1. Mechanically-Attached: Membrane is mechanically-attached to the structure with mechanical anchors
  2. Fully-adhered: Membrane is bonded directly to the insulation board or other substrate
  3. Point-Affixed: Plates are installed at fixed intervals & the membrane is welded to the plates.

UltraPly TPO Roofing Systems

Suitable for a variety of low-slope commercial roofing applications, UltraPly™ TPO roofing membrane is a sustainable roofing solution for a wide range of building types. UltraPly TPO membrane also offers design options with panels available in reflective white, tan or gray, which can help reduce a building’s cooling requirements. White and tan UltraPly TPO membranes meet the new version of the California Energy Efficiency Standards for Residential and Nonresidential Buildings (Title 24). These standards define cool roofs in California to have a minimum three-year aged reflectance of 0.55 and a minimum thermal emittance of 0.75 for low-sloped nonresidential buildings.

Platinum TPO Roofing Systems

UltraPly™ Platinum TPO system is a thermoplastic roofing system backed by a 30-year warranty. Comprised of a durable, 80-mil-thick scrim-reinforced membrane, the UltraPly Platinum TPO system can be fully adhered or mechanically attached to insulation and fastened to a wide range of deck substrates.

ReflexEON TPO Roofing Systems

The chief advantage of a light colored roof is its ability to reflect UV radiation and improve a building’s energy efficiency. It extends those advantages, as it is the brightest, most reflective TPO membrane on the market today. Additionally, the increased brightness will help to maintain its reflectivity level.

UltraPly TPO XR Roofing Systems

UltraPly™ TPO XR combines the durability of a single-ply membrane with an external backing of eight-ounce, non-woven polyester to offer an additional internal and external reinforcement for remarkable puncture resistance. Installation flexibility enables the roofing system to be installed with either hot asphalt, UltraPly TPO XR Bonding Adhesive or foam adhesive XR Stick or ISO Spray S. UltraPly™ TPO SA membrane is an easy to install, self-adhered, reflective white membrane that dramatically reduces labor costs. Available in 45- and 60-mil thickness, it meets industry regulations, improves worksite air quality and eliminates odor. UltraPly TPO SA membrane combines the flexibility of proven TPO membrane with a factory applied, pressure sensitive, hot melt adhesive. This eliminates field application of bonding adhesives and enhances adhesion to approved substrates, resulting in a lay-flat application. An ideal flashing application for parapet walls and vertical surfaces, the membrane also features strong, reliable, heat welded seams and conforms better to insulation joints and step offs.

The main characteristics of Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM) that make it a premiere roofing system are the material’s outstanding resistance to heat, ozone, polar substances, and weather-born stress. EPDM systems consist of a single-ply membrane that makes a roof completely waterproof and does not pollute run-off rainwater. By utilizing carbon as a molecular backbone, EPDM can expand up to 300% while retaining 100% structural memory. We install the major brands of EPDM roofing systems: Versico Carlisle, Firestone, Genflex.

RubberGard EcoWhite EPDM Roofing System

The environmentally friendly EcoWhite membrane provides building owners with the proven performance of traditional EPDM, while providing the additional benefit of keeping the roof cooler. Available in a 60-mil thickness, EcoWhite EPDM membrane is a bi-laminate, white-on-black cured membrane that can be used in conjunction with the comprehensive EcoWhite line of accessories for rapid, consistent and cost-effective fully-adhered installations. It is available for UL- and FM-rated systems, exceeds ASTM D 4637 standards and is eligible for a 20-year Firestone Red Shield™ Warranty.

RubberGard EPDM Roofing Systems

The RubberGard EPDM system has delivered more than three decades of commercial roofing success by building upon a heritage of innovation in rubber polymer technology. The versatile membrane offers a variety of installation options including fully adhered, ballasted or mechanically attached that deliver superior long-term weatherability and exhibit exceptional wind uplift resistance.

RubberGard R.M.A. Roofing Systems

The mechanically attached system can provide up to 25 years of warranty protection with no additional maintenance or inspections required to maintain coverage. The RubberGard R.M.A. System is a recyclable roofing option that also offers a low annualized cost, reduced VOC emissions, and complies with certain FM and UL approval standards.

UltraBlend Roofing System

The UltraBlend system utilizes UltraPly TPO for horizontal roof surfaces and either RubberGard™ EPDM or EcoWhite EPDM for vertical surfaces, such as parapet walls. This can help contractors save time and reduce labor costs, while giving building owners the confidence that their roof is covered by durable roofing materials that have withstood the test of time.

 90-mil EcoWhite Platinum EPDM

Bringing together the eco-friendly attributes of a white membrane with the proven performance of traditional EPDM, this new roofing solution meets LEED® certification requirements, exceeds ASTM D 4637 standards and is UL- and FM-approved. EcoWhite Platinum EPDM is manufactured as 10-foot wide, no-fold, seamless panels, which are easy to handle and quick to install. More flexible than thermoplastic single-ply membranes, it allows for year-round application. It is the only white EPDM on the market that offers the benefits of the Firestone Red Shield™ 30-year Platinum Warranty

Platinum EPDM Roofing Systems

RubberGard Platinum EPDM combines the strength of 90-mil RubberGard EPDM with Firestone HailGard composite insulation for outstanding thermal performance and puncture resistance. Seamed with Firestone QuickSeam™ Tape, RubberGard Platinum EPDM offers watertight seams with increased strength.

Similar to TPO roofing systems, Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) roof systems are lightweight and highly reflective. The white surface provides a cooling effect, lowering energy costs in warm climates. PVC is a good choice for facilities with grease, oil, and chemical concerns. PVC roofing systems have a long history of meeting the most stringent codes across the industry, and are a good choice for durability and effieciency. Bedrock Contracting has experience with all types of thermoplastic roofing systems and installation methods. We install the major brands of PVC roofing systems: Carlisle, Duro-Last, and Fivertite.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a trusted membrane that has been providing decades of waterproofing protection in Europe and North America. PVC’s popularity stems from its dependable, heat-welded seams, high reflectivity, superior physical attributes and resistance to water, chemicals, grease, fire and punctures. Sure-Flex PVC feature ENERGY STAR® qualification, contribute to LEED® credit requirements and are CRRC-rated and Title 24 compliant. The Sure-Flex product line is one of the broadest in the industry, offering a PVC membrane for virtually any low-slope roofing specification. From 10-foot-wide sheets and fiberglass reinforcement to FleeceBACK and Elvaloy® enhancements.
